Akshay Kumar's Airlift First Look Poster
The wait is finally over, Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur are all set to bring the perfect patriotic film for the republic day of India.

Akshay Kumar's Airlift is all set to hit the theaters on 22nd of January 2016, just 4 days before the republic day. This has been a great year for Akshay Kumar whose films like Gabbar Is Back, Brothers and Singh is Bliing opening up to good numbers at the Indian box office.

Singh is Bliing got the biggest opening ever in Akshay Kumar's career and till then Akki's fans are eagerly waiting for his next film and they don’t have to wait too long. After his films like Special 26 and Baby, Akki is geared up to mesmerize us with his Khiladi stunts once again in Airlift.

Airlift is directed by Raja Krishna Menon, based on a true story set in 1990s. The film revolves around the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the 1990 Gulf War. The first look poster of Airlift prepares us to witness a glimpse of Indias biggest evacuation.

The poster sees a lone fighter plane taking off of a war-torn airport and it reads - 1,70,000 refugees, 488 flights, 59 days, 1 man, telling what this movie is all about. The film is about the untold true story of the Ranjit Katyal played by Akshay Kumar who led the operation against all odds during Iraq-Kuwait War. Nimrat Kaur plays the character of a woman enjoying a privileged life in an opulent mansion. Most part of the film was shot in Mumbai, Ras Al Khaimah and Bhuj.
