Kanche is an upcoming Telugu romantic drama set against the backdrop of World War 2. This will be mega prince Varun Tej's second film after Mukunda. Director Krish said that Kanche is a story he wanted to tell for about three and half years now. He described it as his most ambitious project and they have spent a lot of money on this film.

Krish claims Kanche as the first film in Telugu cinema on World War. He said the film is a love story of Dhoopati Hari Babu (Varun Tej) and Rachakonda Seetha Devi's (Pragya Jaiswal) while also focusing on the contribution of Indian soldiers to World War 2.

When asked about what inspired him to make this movie he said "Kanche means fence in English and like countries which are separated by fence love is also separated by mane fences like community, language, etc and I am using the this as a theme to understand love, friendship and war."

Coming to the story of the film Varun Tej plays as Dhoopati Hari Babu an Indian soldier who took part in World War 2 and fought against Germany. He writes all the experiences he faced during the war to his beloved. This movie tries to show the contribution of Indian soldiers to World War 2 which sadly did not receive any limelight. The director said that the action sequence at Sector 1551, near the Italian border will be a highlight in the film.
